Poem: Dads come and dads go

Dads come and dads go and sometimes moms do to

This story is about dads and different things YOU can do

If dad is gone and you want him back

Close your eyes and picture black

From that space comes an older you

SO proud and loving to see, feel, and be near you

Keep your eyes closed and feel his hug

Feel his high five

Feel his love

For even when he is not near

His love runs through you, its very dear 

Sometimes it is hard to be a dad

They feel lost, bad, sad, and mad

Not from you, but from other things

So let it go and see what the day brings

One thing I know is true

You love you and your dad does too

So close your eyes and let his love in

Picture a bigger you from within

Now wrap your arms around you tight

Squeeze and giggle with all your might

Breath in love and let it go

You love you so let it show

As you look around please see

Nothing is as perfect as it may seem to be

It is how you find beauty that makes it neat

So have some fun, use your hands, heart and feet!

No need to look for what is not there

Enjoy the love you receive from here or there 

Life always changes and you do too

You grow and blossom, be sure to nurture your HEART too

If it hurts place your hand overtop

Rub it in a circle-do not let it drop

Picture yourself big and tall

And give you all of the love, both big and small

Loving yourself in every stage of life

Heals your heart and will stop the fight

Cause dads come and dads go

New dads may appear and they may have a fro!

No matter who is here or there

You love you and it shows you care

So breath in deep and look inside

Find your heart, tell it not to hide

Life is better in the sun

So love yourself and so will everyone!
